Unfortunately, babies can’t explain why they love their NUK Star so much. But we suspect it’s because it feels so pleasant in their mouths: the upper part of the teat gently fits the roof of their mouths. It has a soft zone, and the material is very thin and exceptionally smooth. The lower part of the dummy leaves enough room for natural sucking movements. As the teat is narrow and flat, it puts almost no pressure on the teeth and jaw. A sturdy, reusable storage case is included for safe and hygienic storage. These soothers are yellow and pink. Instructions for use
- Before first use, boil the teat for 5 minutes. Make sure there is enough water in the pot to prevent the teat from being damaged.
- For hygiene reasons, wash the soother with a mild washing-up liquid and sterilise it before each subsequent use. We recommend using a NUK steriliser for disinfection.
- After washing or sterilising, squeeze any remaining water out of the soother and leave it to dry. This is also for hygienic reasons.
- Do not clean soothers in the dishwasher; cleaning agents may damage them.
- For hygienic cleaning in the microwave, fill the soother storage case with water up to the lower mark. Then place the dummy inside. Do not place the box in the centre of the microwave turntable, to ensure even heating and prevent damage to the material. IMPORTANT: Heat the closed box according to the heating time and microwave power (engraved) marked on the box. Follow the appliance’s instructions for use too. Do not open the microwave for another 5 minutes. Caution: there is a risk of burns even after 5 minutes. Using the wrong amount of water, heating time or power setting may damage the material. Pour away any remaining water. Leave the soothers to dry in the open case. Check the temperature before use. Keep the soother storage case out of reach of children. This product is only suitable for NUK soothers.
- Store in a dry, clean place, away from direct sunlight.
- The MommyFeel dummy (0–9M) was specially designed for breastfeeding. After breastfeeding, switch to another NUK dummy model.
For your child’s safety
WARNING!
- Inspect the product carefully before each use. Pull the teat in every direction. If any signs of damage appear, discard the product.
- Also check the rubber part of the teat, especially when your baby starts teething. Some babies bite the rubber part of the teat so hard that they may damage it or even remove it completely. If necessary, give your baby special teethers.
- Use only special soother holders that comply with the EN 12586 standard. Never attach ribbons or straps to the dummy, as this may cause strangulation.
- Do not leave the dummy in sunlight or near a heat source. Do not leave it in cold sterilising solution for longer than recommended by the manufacturer, as this may weaken the material.
- In rare cases, a child may put the entire dummy in their mouth. In this situation, DO NOT PANIC! The dummy’s special design prevents the child from swallowing it, and the two holes in the dummy shield allow them to breathe freely. Remove the dummy from the child’s mouth as gently as possible.
- Never dip the pacifier in sweet substances or medicine, or lick it, as this may cause tooth decay in your child.
- For hygiene and safety reasons, replace the pacifier after about 1–2 months of use. Even if the dummy is not visibly damaged, its quality may have deteriorated.
- Dummies with a shield: keep the removable dummy cover out of the child’s reach due to the risk of choking.
- LATEX dummy: made from natural rubber latex.
