As a speech therapist, I often hear from parents asking which dummy is safest for their child’s oral development.Symmetrical silicone soothers for ages 6-18 months are an excellent choice for babies. Their flat tip on both sides allows the baby to position their tongue comfortably in their mouth without forcing the jaw or bite to shift.An added benefit is the contoured shield, which does not press against the mouth, allows natural nasal breathing and protects delicate skin from irritation. It is a safe, carefully considered solution for parents who want to combine their child’s comfort with healthy speech development.
SAFETY INFORMATION
Before first use and before every subsequent use, wash and sterilise the soother thoroughly, for example by boiling it in water for 5 minutes. Do not leave the product in disinfectant for longer than recommended, as this may damage and/or weaken it.Never use strong chemicals or products that are not intended for sterilisation. Never attach unapproved ribbons or cords to the dummy, as they may cause strangulation.Use only special soother holders that comply with the EN 12586 standard. Before each use, always check that the soother is not damaged by pulling it in different directions, especially if your child has teeth.Replace any damaged, bitten or deformed soothers! For hygiene and safety reasons, it is recommended that soothers are replaced every 1-2 months. Always use the product under adult supervision.Never dip a soother in sweets or medicine, as this can cause tooth decay. If the soother gets stuck in your child’s mouth, DO NOT PANIC. It cannot be swallowed and is designed to handle swallowing situations.The holes in the shield allow easy breathing. Remove the dummy from the child’s mouth as carefully and gently as possible. Store the product in a dry place at room temperature. Do not leave the product in direct sunlight or in a hot place, as this may damage it.
